How we began

A community's answer to a need

St. Kizito Secondary School Kabowa was founded in 1994 as a community-based Catholic school. Fr. Ssengendo Charles of Ndeeba Parish, working with the sub-parish council, saw the need for secondary education in Kabowa and led the effort to establish it — on a site that had previously served as a primary school.

Mr. Mpoza John Lwanga — now Dr. Mpoza — became the pioneer head teacher, chosen for his disciplinarian approach and commitment to character formation. The school takes its name and founding values from St. Kizito, a young martyr remembered for godliness, obedience, and prudence.
